Happy Birthday Amanda!

Happy 18th Birthday, Amanda!

My little girl is not so little any more. She is an adult now, and gets to take her place in the universe. It came entirely too fast for me, but she seems to be taking it in stride with her usual quirky grace. I pray I raised her right, but I think she'll be fine.

Tonght's cake is chocolate, of course, but with ganache instead of icing, and coffee flavored ice cream. Ahhhh, at least her taste buds have grown up with her! No more gummy yummies, sour candies, or anything else sugar-coated-sugar flavored. There is hope yet.

Where Did Everyone Go?!

Well, I hope everyone is busy out there spreading Christmas Joy, shopping, caroling (does anyone do that anymore?) visiting family and friends, or doing whatever it is that makes you really happy this time of year. I sure do miss everyone! How come no one has stopped by to say hello since Thanksgiving?! That is so mean!

Special Days

Do you remeber those special days that just stand out long after they have passed? Well, that day will be yesterday for me. It was one of the nicest birthdays I have ever had! I just seemed to get the best vibes from everyone I met for the whole day. The DJs on the radio even gave me special birthday wishes, both yesterday and today. And I got some lovely gifts, too. My kids gave me a favorite book, a kitchen timer and a box of chocolate (yum!) I got chocolate from my daughter's boyfriend, too. There was a carnation from the florist, yarn, a candle, and a special taco dinner with brownies. How good is that!!! It made me feel so special. ~~~ Thank you everyone. I will remember it for a very long time.

There are a couple of people out there who also had birthdays recently, and I really do hope that yours were as joyous as mine was. Happy Unbirthday to you!!!
