Ooops, I wanted to say something else!

I have been working at a local food bank, helping as a volunteer. What a great feeling! If you have any free time and are willing to do something to help the community, then VOLUNTEER!
You will be glad you did.

New and Improved Blog

Hello everyone,
Hey, lookie, lookie... I figured out how to add links to my blog. I think that is a pretty big step. It adds a little color to my page, eh? Have fun playing with the stuff, ok!

Good evening world,
I have decided that I would like to make my college degree in multi-media design or graphic arts design. I would someday like to be an illustrator, say, or a multi-media publisher. While these 2 subjects are very different, I want to narrow my field to an art field.

I have been thinking about this for a while now, but I have not been devoting enough of my time to actually taking the courses I need to get a degree. Sure, I have taken every art and computer class that my community college has offered, and that was all good expereince, but I am now having to face the music and focus more on the classes that are required to graduate. Those are the classes that are not so much fun, like PolySci, and Math. Yeah, kids, I agree. Yech!!! I have been taking more of those classes lately, and am even taking one this summer. I still have a way to go, but I will get there in my time.

I mean, whadda ya gonna do?

I have been looking at colleges near me that offer degrees in the fields I want, and I would absolutely LOVE to go to the San Francisco Art Institute. It sounds soooo awesome! It is about 400 miles from my home, though. So I would need to make a change of venue to go there. So many decisions...

So if anyone is out there with some good advice, or some helpful hints about an art or multi-media degree, I am listening intently. Thanks in advance for ANY help you can offer!!

I found another quote which I completely identified with today:

"Love me when I least deserve it, because that's when I really need it."

Hey!
I took my kids to see the new Star Wars film, and if you are a fan, it's a MUST SEE!!! It tied most of the plots together, but they actually have room for another movie in there somewhere, although I am stumped as to what they would call it. Star Wars 3 1/2? Anyway, the special effects were really terriffic. I thought to myself that it would seem funny to go on to movie #4 now with the 30-year-old technology and think about it the same way I did when I saw it at the theater as a teen (after seeing this one.) My kids liked it, too, but they take it for granted that the special effects are always there. They have no idea what it was like when I was young and all this stuff was being created. Hey I am dating myself, aren't I? Just go see the movie and judge it for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

another one of my "furchildren" Posted by Hello

Thursday !

Well, I made it!
The semester is finally over, save for finishing up our book, and I am soooo relieved. I managed to get a third scholarship this week, and that was the icing on the cake. More importantly, I think I finally got the respect of my kids for all my hard work. I got a better grade on Geology than I expected I would, but I had to work my assets off to get that grade! Dunno the rest of the grades yet, but I think I did OK in the rest of my classes as well.
I have almost a month off now before my summer class begins. WHOOO HOOO! Gonna do some serious sleeping for the first week of it just to catch up. heee
More soon...

I read this today and it just fit for me!
