My daughter, the budding photographer

My daugher took these pics when we walked to the beach yesterday. Welcome to our neck of the woods!

"G"s

My friend Celtic Lady challenged me to find 10 things that describe my life, all that begin with "G." Here it is:

Glee: I have been happy as can be for the last couple of weeks, because a lot of great things are going on around here.

Graduation: I finally realized my lifelong dream of graduating from college on May 19th. Most of you know that already, though!

Gigantic: bunches of rhododenron blooms everywhere. Reds, pinks, white, purples, even orange and gold ones. Gorgeous!

Garlic: I love everything garlic! No vampires in this family! Or unhealty hearts.

Ganache: this yummy chocolate glaze isn't really important in my life, but chocolate is! Unfortunately, chocolate doens't begin with a "G." To love me is to give me chocolate...

Green: my favorite color. Guess that comes from being part Irish, part environmentalist... That is why I think Global Warming is an issue we can't ignore any more.

Genuine: I love genuine people, and especially those I call my friends. Like the Celtic Lady, and her wonderful mini- Goddess!

Giggles: but then, who doesn't love this sweet little sound...

Gallons of iced tea to go with Great summer Grilling...

Gratitude: for all the gallant men and women fighting for our freedom all over this planet...

Happy Memorial Day!!!

Wednesday, and back to work as usual!

Well, I have had my fifteen minutes of fame, and now it is back to the grind... i have been working my posterior off ever since my big night. What happened to my summer vacation?

It was a great night, and there are 40 new college graduates in the world. Although there were only 24 of us at the ceremony... my family showed up and took pictures (Some of them are even in focus, sort of. None of them could ever make a living at being photographers! Oh well.) I felt like a giant among the hobbits! In heels, I stand at what seems like an enormous 6'2" tall... I ended up being seated dead center in the front row. I think they planned it that way. But I got my sheepskin, an orange rose, and a piece of cake for my trouble.

The party afterward is sort of a blurrrrrrrr....

I'mmm Bbbaaaccckkkk!!!!

I hope you didn't miss me too much. I think I have the worst of the mess straightened out, thank goodness. I don't think there is any permanent damage other than people wondering why the ^%^&** haven't I answered their emails... It hasn't been without its rough spots, though, I can tell you!
Graduation is this Friday, and caps and gowns are here. What an UGLY color, to be sure, but since I had no say in the matter, at least I know I won't be the only one wearing it. It's a dingy pale gray, supposed to be silver ~~ yeah, right! It will be fine. I am just happy this day has finally arrived. My son was teasing me that it took me 5 years to get a 2-year degree, and I guess it has. I started out only taking one class at a time, so I really have been at it for 5 years. No wonder they are all glad to see me go!!!

There is change brewing on the horizon, and it is a little scary!

On a lighter front, did you hear the President's "catch and release" program to take care of those pesky illegal immigrants... I laugh every time that idiot opens his mouth! Sorry to those of you who actually approve of the man, but let's face it... he is not winning any hearts and fair maidens on any continent with his screwy plans . And I am not on any side in regards to the matter of immigrants, so don't go there either. I just think that of all the things in the world the president could have called his program, catch and release WASN'T the one to use...

Its getting late and I have put my foot in it enough for one night. So, more soon!

A Day Off From Classes

I have taken some heavy hits on my computer over the last couple of days, and may have actually been hacked into. I am glad that this is still working, thank goodness for something good. Tomorrow will be a day to run all sorts of stupid errands to cover myself against invasion. Such a major pain! You may not hear from me if there is a virus run rampant in here, so please be patient.

Man, it Never Fails!!! A One in a Million Shot...

How long does a black eye last?

Tell me it is less than 17 days! Please!!! That is how long it is until my graduation. I have waited all my adult life for this day, and what happens ~~ I get a black eye! Oh well, I never was very photogenic...

Murphy really was a ^%$&&#$@ when he invented his laws...

Tonight, I was sitting in the easy chair near Amanda; watching the tube, while she was on the computer. The shows were about to change, so she threw the remote in my general direction over her shoulder, saying "Here" at the same time. I turned to see what she was doing and the corner of the remote exactly hit the edge of the bone under my eye.

Results are in: it's a shiner! There is no way that she could've done that on purpose. She was soooo upset. It really was an accident, but no one at work tomorrow will believe it, or let me live it down without a large dose of ribbing. Just my luck, eh?
